Collaborated, lead and directed creative with internal/external teams as part of a focused leadership group to represent adidas basketball. The experience was the first of its kind for adidas and brought the best of the brand together to pitch the top players of the 2016 NBA rookie draft class on joining the adidas family.
This resulted in adidas signing the best rookie draft class of 2016 including the top 5 draft prospects.
Directed and lead the creative direction of an event / photo shoot to announce, celebrate and welcome the rookie class to adidas.

“One & Done” explores the shoe company’s chase to sign Simmons. Adidas’ pitch included video messages from DJ Khaled and Snoop Dogg extolling why Simmons should sign with the three stripes. The Simmons family gushes about the pitch from Adidas and appears lukewarm about Nike. “I felt like Adidas wanted him much more,” says Julie.

For adidas, the presentation played up their “Creator” positioning, their newly revamped Basketball designs and how Ben would fit in as a featured athlete.
“I thought the whole presentation was amazing. I didn’t know what to expect,” Dave says of the initial adidas pitch. “Adidas as a brand, we saw a lot of transformation and there’s a lot changing.”
“None of their stuff last year was like that,” notes Ben. “It’s like a whole new brand.”
